The Afghan Gardening Project at
The Gathering Place at Deer Park (GPDP) 

InnerCHANGE WORKS (ICW) is proud to co-sponsor the Afghan Gardening Project with Imagination Celebration and Creative Exchange. The project is hosted at The Gathering Place at Deer Park (GPDP), a new nonprofit dedicated to deepening the relationship between human and other-than-human nature.

Near Garden of the Gods, GPDP offers a garden with meditative walking space, a multi-use room for contemplation and workshops, and an eco-library. It is also home to a deer community that has lived on the land for decades. There, Afghan refugee and immigrant women and their families are reconnecting with land that resembles home. They grow their own cultural foods, keep bees, and have space to simply garden.

Your gift makes this possible. Current needs include:

• Water costs for the growing season

• Seeds, including traditional Afghan varieties

• Soil amendments for raised beds

• A small greenhouse

• Beekeeping supplies
